Ipod Dock Not Rcognised

I recently bought an Onkyo ND-S1 ipod dock that is meant to connect to my PC, USB to USB. But when connected the computer says it doesn't recognise the USB Device.i've tested it on a friends laptop, it worked fine. We're both using XP Pro. Any suggestions? Yours Darren
