Please help me with my new monitor purchase
I am currently in the market for a new 22" monitor to replace my huge old CRT which is currently hogging my desk. I have had a look around and it seems like the LG and Samsung monitors are the best value for money. I have a budget of anything up to £250 with a DVI connection and I do not really care about any extra features i.e. speakers, usb ports etc. althought stuff like that is always a bonus. I just really want the best quality picture for gaming and watching movies.

Re: Please help me with my new monitor purchase
There are some great bargains for 22" monitors at the moment.
I have one of these:

Samsung Pebble. Awesome screen and looks stylish too.

Re: Please help me with my new monitor purchase
Just bought a Samsung 2253BW which is brilliant. Same basic screen as the Pebble but a bit cheaper
Has DVI-I and VGA.

Re: Please help me with my new monitor purchase
I use an HP W2207 at work - and I'm very impressed with the screen quality. It's much brighter and sharper than my Neovo 19" I use at home. I intend to buy one for home -even though it is at the higher end of the price range for 22" monitors. There's a replacement model which has an H on the end of the model name - it also has an HDMI connector as well as DVI and VGA.

Monitors start at around £90 for a 19", 17" doesn't seem to be sold much anymore.

The w2207h only has HDMI and VGA, it doesn't have DVI.
There's a new HP LP2275w out which should have even more impressive picture quality, it is at the high-end of the price range at £300 though (it's similar to the £400 24" monitors like the Dell 2408WFP but smaller).

Re: Please help me with my new monitor purchase
Thanks for all the help. Would you say that the HP monitor is better than the T220 from samsung that I am currently considering in terms of value for money?

My mistake - I misread the specs.
I can't comment on whether the HP is better than the Samsung or not, as I've only seen the HP. The only thing I can say is that I would spend my own money on the HP. I've just checked and the W2207 looks like it has been replaced by the W2208 now anyway.

The LP2275w should be, although of course it's more money.
I don't know about the W2207h in terms of picture quality, although it does have a height adjustable stand which is very nice (I believe the T220 is just tilt like most samsung monitors).
