Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 920

Does anyone have experience of the likely faults on this monitor, please?

After 7 years faithful service, mine has started to switch off at random.

Switching off for a few seconds and then back on again, does the trick.

Until the next time...

Any ideas, please?

Re: Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 920

Does the red standby light on the power switch blink on and off?

If so, you probably still have a years use out of it - my trusty diamond pro 720 has been doing this for over 12 months now (albeit not very often, probably 6 times in the last year); I usually hit the power button when it happens and try switching back on after a couple of hours, sometimes longer.

I'm just dreading the day when it dies completely (I hate LCD monitors and there only seems to be 1 viewsonic CRT on the market right now).

Hope this helps.

P.S. my 720 did this about 8 months into ownership and never came back to life, just a blinking red light -I had to RMA it, so it always puts the frighteners on me when it happens now LOL.

Re: Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 920

Thanks for your reply.

I've come to the conclusion that it's probably a dry joint in the power supply that only shows up when the monitor is cold.

Leaving the monitor on st/by overnight has "cured" the problem.

Not ecologically correct, I know...

Why should it?

In any case, I've got eight inter-connected smoke detectors all over the bungalow.

Not that I'm paranoid, of course...
