Realtek Hd-5.1/headset audio problem

Hi just built my new pc, with a z68 motheboard, core i5 all the usual.

Its an Msi motherboard with a built in soundcard which im trying to use with my logitech x540's. The problem is when i connect the speaker cables up and open up realtek audio control panel, it doesnt detect im using 5.1 speakers. But it does detect the speakers are connected because it askes me which cable is which speaker. i.e yellow is subwoffer etc.

I switch manually to 5.1 and even then when i test the speakers, only the front L/R are working, on test rear dont produce sound nor does centre speaker. the speakers give me sound through all 5 when i put matrix mode on, but that through the speakers not pc.

also when i connect my turtle beach headset to front panel via auido in usb, it shuts of the sound on the speakers.

any body know how to configure these 5.1 speakers or get audio from both the headset and speakers. I have to manually switch from one to another but cant have both on at the same time.
