Surround Left/Right Channels Wrong Way Round

Hi there,
ive recently been trying to set up my Xonar DG sound card to output 5.1 from my Windows 7 PC to my Logitech Z5500 Speakers. I have connected the sound card to the speakers via 3 stereo cables rather then an optical as i couldnt seem to get the 5.1 to work through that, only 2.0.
The problem im having tho is that the surround left and surround right are the wrong way round. The speakers are 100% wired correctly so can only assume its a software issue somewhere. in the Xonar DG Audio Center software, i have the option to flip the bass and center speaker round, but no option for the rear speakers. The sound channels are working perfectly otherwise.
Im sure this problem has come up before but i tried searching and couldnt find anything relating to this.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

what are the connectiions on your z5500 is it just 3.5 leads or is it phono. If phono then easy solution is swapping the red/black leads over.
I know i have the option to switch each channel on my software. as i had the same problem with center/speaker set up wrongly and to be honest my front 2 were as well.

It is connected via 3.5 leads so can't think of a easy way of swapping these. I did look into some different software but I only get the option to swap the center and sub woofer annoyingly!

Channels the wrong way around.

Hi
Not sure if this is any help, but have you tried reversing the wires in the sub woofer box. I am sure that I had an issue with a similar piece of hardware in the dim and distant past and if I remember correctly I got over the problem by swapping the cables around on the sub woofer box. I cannot remember exactly what I did, but I think that I had several issueswith the ZXR 750. If I recall I had sound that should have been coming from the front coming out of the rear speakers! I can remember that it was a lot of trial and error, but I got there in the end, experimentation could be the answer, ignore the correct plug settings and try different ones, it workedfor me, worth a try?

Hmmm, without being there it sounds a bit complicated lol.

What about: ONE OF THESE and ONE OF THESE

That way you can plug the speakers into the male 3.5mm jack, join the RCA leads and then plug it into the soundcard, that way you could swap the RCA leads to get the left and right mixed.

Thats a good idea cokker, never thought of that one, yes it might work, my problem was that I had a Creative sound card and a Logitech 7.1 speaker system and the colour coding was different. In hindsight I should have bought a Creative speaker setup and then there would not have been a problem. But good thinking wish that I had thought of that!

Yeh this is a good idea, I have the cables around to be able to do it too, just a shame there's no software that will do it.
But thanks for the work around.
