Yeah I know these websites keep saying that but are we 100% sure that is the case - I thought we had concluded that that statement applies to other MS software (ie. office etc.) but not to OSs?

After all, I think s4s ammended their FAQ which now reads:

Please note, for Operating System software (e.g. Windows 7) you are only eligible to install the software on ONE computer, this is for operating system software only

Surely these will be the same academic packages (I assume both under the MS Student Select programme) and will therefore have the same license conditions?

Do we know if anyone has successfully activated 2 instances of the OS from this edition?

I think you're right, I think it's standard Microsoft software that can be installed on 2 x machines (not O/S software).

However, their FAQ doesn't differentiate....

5. Can I install the software on both my PC and notebook?

As indicated above, each piece of software bought can only be installed on one computer.

The exception is Microsoft.

You can install Microsoft software on up to 2 computers. E.g. one could be a desktop and the other on a portable device like a netbook. Both should be for the exclusive use of the licence holder (the student!)

Guys, I got an academic copy and read the license (first time ever, lol) but it definitely stated only one machine.
