LG Flatron W2600HP 26" Widescreen LCD Monitor - £300 pre-order

Guys,

Just spotted what seems to be a cracking price for an LG Flatron W2600HP monitor. It's a 26" S-IPS 1920x1200 widescreen monster and its current listed for £300 (£312 inc del) at Overclockers. It is a pre-order but stock is expected today so hopefully it will arrive soon if ordered.

These typically cost more that £500 so seems like a cracking deal to me.

Good find. That is a cracking price for a S-IPS monitor. BTW its 1920x1200 resolution. Very tempting, will need to look furhter into this and read that very long review.

I phoned OCUK to confirm that this is the S-IPS version (W2600HP-BF) rather than the TN panel (W2600HP-PF) and that it is revision 2 and not revision 1, and they said it was definitely the IPS and rev 2.

Thanks for checking - should have done that myself really but havent had time due to being at work.

This does seem to be a cracking deal. Cant wait for mine to arrive as it will be a huge upgrade from my 22" TN Dell panel.

Plenty of research later, and I've decided this is the panel to replace my current monitor. Luckily my trip to Novatech paid off as they had only 2 unallocated from their next shipment at the end of the month. Looks like I'll be enjoying my first S-IPS panel in not too long a time.

I've cancelled my order with OCUK, as they have already charged me with no delivery date and they are now saying they have no idea when they will get them in. I have placed an order with novatech instead as they don't charge until delivery.

Might wanna rethink that. Looks like they might be jumping up the price if in fact it is LG messing everyone about and thats the price for the TN panel. It's got me a bit worried to be honest.

It seems that LG have messed up and given the TN-panel price for the IPS panel monitor - this has been confirmed by both novatech (in the forum above) and by OCUK here. There is the suggestion that LG may honor the preorders, but this will likely not be until next year in which case I am glad I have an preorder with novatech rather that OCUK now otherwise OCUK will hold my money for months while waiting to see if LG honor it or not, whereas at least novatech won't charge me unless it actually ships.
