I've got one of these had it a while now been very good and never had an issue with it.

Drives are fine but the PSU's that ship with them are crap. failure rates are very high.

WD will replace FOC while the drives in warranty so not a huge issue; just something to be aware of.

(I have 3 of these now )

Re: Western Digital 1TB External Hard Drive £61.99 - Amazon

Ah typical, the Amazon has gone up in price and eBuyer out of stock as I was about to buy!

I have two WD My Book Studio drives at the moment which have been fine for over a year now (although one of the PSU's did blow and was replaced) but they are almost full, so another WD 1TB drive would be ideal. The slower USB isn't an issue as it will be backing up data from the WD Studios (FW800).

Yep I have also noticed this too, but after observing the price for a few weeks it seems the price seems to fluctuate from £61.99 to £67 so if I were you 'd wait and see if they dropped the price again in a couple of days.

I was thinking of buying this, but then my budget could reach a 1.5TB.
