I guess they monitor how sales are going. It was that price yesterday and I decided to sleep on it. It was that price up until something after mid-day today. Fortunately I placed an order for four and got them at the keener price.

Maybe they think that people will not miss out for the case of a fiver or so.

Perhaps they will go down again, but it's a gamble.

I saw the offer at lunchtime and thought I'd wait til I got home before I ordered, got home and it was up to 56.99.

There's a 1tb hdd on the site with a 32mb cache for 59.99, is it worth spending the extra few quid to get the bigger cache or is there no notable difference?

Hi Nerro,
The cache is a small part of the whole picture. You really have to read all you can about the actual drive to find out if it fits the bill.

I got my Hitachi drives in under 24hrs! I'm just formatting them in my nas and am on the second (takes about five hours each). Seem to run cooler than the 500mb Seagate drives though which is good.

i got one , performance is not brilliant as per tomshardware reviews but looks lime hitachi may be back up there with maxtor / wd / seagates . but price per gb is brill

idle is next to silent and writing/access acceptable little ticking sound

The two i ordered have BOTH failed on me, one power connector blew up and the other is clicking erratically. Getting refund and steering clear of these
