I want to buy some Cat5e cable, at least a 305m box.

Where is the cheapest place to buy 305m of UTP Cat5e?

How much more expensive is FTP?


Last time I bought some cat5e UTP it was about £35 a box now it seems almost double that!! (copper increases i guess?)

Be interesting to see if anyone can beat that price to be honest. FTP cable is generally over twice the price, due to the foil screening used I presume. Although Screwfix again have a 200m box for £75

Thanks guys, I think I will go for http://www.blackbox.co.uk UTP Cat5e all in 305m is about £50.

Unless anyone can recommend another supplier.

TBH that price isnt great,your local electricians supply shop will do it for around the same.

I've had a look on ebay as well, they are abit cheaper £5-10 but the quality and service may not be up to much.

I had a look at your links, one was actually for 100m of cable a bit sneaky really putting 305m in the title and 100m as the item. The other was only cat5 cable not cat5e.

Yeah thats what I thought, Ive had a look at tlc direct which is normally spot on with its prices. They want £20 per 100m they dont have any 305m boxes available.

Just asked the question of the seller, this one is Cat5e and error by the seller. Therefore pretty cheap

well im basing that on my friends purchuse last week.He bought 1000 feet of cat5E.

Im in Ireland,where everything is more expensive

and it was 70 euro inc VAT which is 55 pounds,I would expect you guys to be able to better that.I wouldnt be happy if I didnt get 1000 feet for 50 pounds in the UK tbh.
Thats also taking into account yiou cheaper VAT rate,so you should be getting it for 45 .
