Will this component cat5 system work with sky hd?

Component Composite Video Audio IR Repeater System CAT5 on eBay (end time 19-Sep-09 15:36:12 BST)

Will it send a proper hd picture to another tv?

Could i use this step up transformer to power it
110 to 220 V Step Up Voltage Converter Transformer 100W on eBay (end time 18-Sep-09 07:57:48 BST)

Do these systems use a regular Crossover Cat5 cable.

You could just use any DV transformer to power it, looks like you'd just need a 12V DV @ 200mA.
Something like this would do...
AC/DC Multi-Voltage 300mA Regulated Power Supply : Regulated Power Supplies : Maplin

I'll leave the video part of the question to someone who knows about that!

Thanks richard,
Would it not matter that is 120V AC 60Hz?

Re: Will this component cat5 system work with sky hd?

No because you just plug that 110V adapter in to the wall and it gives 12VDC out. So you can power it from any power supply that gives at least an output of 200mA @ 12V DC.

The actual sender bit just runs on 12V DC, so it's not fussy about what the voltage is to start with.
