Exclamation Electronical Problem with Subwoofers - Bass coming from them when they are off

I have a Boss RT1045 2 Channel amplifier w/ 1600 watts and (2) 12 inch Permier subwoofers set up in a box. Sometimes when I go over bumps in my vehicle, my subs will start blaring bass, even if they are turned off, or at 1% volume. This only happens to me about half the time I am driving however, and it only happens when I am on the radio.

Is there a problem with the amplifier, the subs, or both, and how would I go about fixing this problem?

Its not blaring base, one of your rca's are grounding or is broken. Check by shaking them and have the headunit running.

also make sure your power wire is ran on the opposite side of your rca's. It;s most definatley your rca's as mentioned. But I've had an amp do the same thing and there was a problem with the gain dial. take your finger and flick the dial or whack the amp with your hand while it's on to mimmick the car going over a bump and listen for it.

Re: Electronical Problem with Subwoofers - Bass coming from them when they are off

Hi, I had a simlar problem once and I tracked it down to the ground cable on my amp being loose. In the end I replaced the cable with a thicker one and made sure it made good contact with the body of the car. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
