Iphone help with Headunit

Hello,

I have a Pioneer DEH-P6900IB which has the Ipod link cable. I am looking at getting an iphone and does anyone have any understanding if these will work with the Headunit?

Cheers

Andy

Yes i have an iphone and i have not this unit but a similar one which uses the same ipod cable and box as this one (pioneer) it works fine.
You could always take your phone into halfords, and try it in thier audio board before buying.

Re: Iphone help with Headunit

With most accessories the iPhone simply behaves like an iPod, I haven't come across one that the iPod functions don't work with....

But to be 100% safe, try it out in an ICE shop...

Re: Iphone help with Headunit

I've got a Pioneer DEH-P85BT and an iPhone and the two don't seem to work. When I plug it in I get an error on the screen of the headunit, something like "Error AO" or similar. It worked fine with my latest gen Nano, but not with the iPhone.

Re: Iphone help with Headunit

may be a bluetooth conflict

iphone hasnt fully implemented the bluetooth protocol

you will also have same problem pairing with sat nav units

No sorry, what I meant was that the iPod part of it doesn't work. The bluetooth phone feature works perfectly, but I can't plug it in to the ipod connecter and use it as an iPod. No big deal though I suppose, I can either go down the aux in route, or just keep my Nano in the glovebox.

my iPhone does the handsfree profile a d exchanges the phone book with my tomtom 910. What more is required for integration? Seems complete enough foe this useage.

Found the cure for this today. Connect your iphone before you turn on you radio/start your car.

Re: Iphone help with Headunit

I can confirm that my iphone works with a DEH-P6900IB

it does give the not authorized accessory and does seem to want to stick it into Airplane mode but other than that it works

AVRCP & AD2P for a start would have been nice!

Nice but not required for phone useage....Also I prefer a cable any day compared to music over bluetooth, but I guess that is personal, but for a fact much more battery friendly.

I don't know what the AVRCP profile is, I appreciate it when you can give an explanation

With a BT stack Audio over AD2P is pretty good. AVRCP allows you to control the Phone over Bluetooth using the car stereo controls (skip/pause etc..)

Means you can leave the phone in your pocket/glovebox.

You forgot about the fact that it does not charge your iPhone.
