Garmin C510 - lanes

Hi my C510 tends to take me down lanes rather than use the "main" roads - is there a setting which I can tell it to ignore small roads ?

I've had a look at the manual and options but doesn't seem to have anything except the Route Preference, but this doesn't appear the solution - any help ?

Re: Garmin C510 - lanes

I have the same problem with my Garmin Nuvi. It would not surprise me if all SatNavs have the same problem. It is especially dangerous if towing a caravan or trailer. With the Nuvi; the only thing I can do is to review the route on a map before setting out and using a "via point" to force it to take a main road. However; with the Nuvi, only one via point is allowed! Anyway; if you have to study a map you are losing the main reason for having a SatNav - Timesaving.
