TomTom one battery life

My TomTom One (v2) lasts a couple of hours running from the battery, which is plenty for most of the journey's that I do.

The problem is, if I charge it, and then leave it for about a day, it loses most of it's charge and only last a few minutes.

Plugging it in all of the time was not a problem in the past, but I have now got an iPod dock which needs the 12v supply, and I cannot find a socket doubler that is strong enough to hold it in place.

My old TT1 (v1) did not do this. Is this usual for the batteries on the v2?

Re: TomTom one battery life

I dont have a TT device as such but have similar devises that will only hold a charge for about 3 hours in use ,Navman PDA & Nokia 770 for instance ,this is common , my Sony palm pda is worse . As you will know , batteries deteriate in time and will gradually get worse when it comes to retaining there charge .Ni-mh & polymer batterys are supposed to be better , ni-cd are the worst .I just wonder if your device needs a new battery .I have heard that devices shouldn't be left in a state of discharge for any length of time , over several months or years .But it's no good as it is , so I would recommend you buy a new battery .

Buy another battery. They are quite easy to fit.
