Help in Choosing First Sat Nav System - LG LN505??

Hi,

I am new to the forum so please bear with me!

i am looking to purchase our first sat nav system and our requirement is for something relatively simple but with European mapping as we will take it away to France at the end of the month.

Having looked in our local Halfords there is an LG system for half price (£140)- LG LN505 -but I am unable to find any reviews of it etc. Does anyone know if this is a decent sat nav system? If not, please can people recommend a system? One friend of mine has recommended a Tom tom 1 Europe version and another a Navman N20. Are these decent systems?

Oh, and it will need to work through the heated windscreen of a mondeo!
