Help!! Do I buy a car stereo with Bluetooth or a bluetooth hands free kit?

Hi

I went to Halfords the other day to have this fitted Halfords | Parrot MKi9200 Bluetooth Handsfree Kit

they couldn't fit it for me at the time because they needed a separate wiring loom which they didn't have in stock.

Anyway the total cost would be £210.00 which I mentioned to my mate who said I would get much better value for money by replacing the head unit.

So has anyone got any suggestions?

Call quality is the major factor and I want to be able to stream music from my phone via Bluetooth.

I have a Citroen Berlingo van

Thanks

Leo

I can't tell you about built in head units but the Parrot is great. IPod music isn't 100% there because it bypasses the radio and does its own amplifying but call quality is brilliant, even with the window open.

Thanks to you both

My old mans had the Parrot fitted and he loves it and from what I've read it seems like it is perfect for what I need.
In my previous van I had a Stereo with AUX in so I used to plug my ipod in for my music, Ipods now gone and all my music is on Galaxy Note. I do miss not being able to access my music whilst driving as I do quite a few miles. I've tried an FM transmitter but can't be bothered with it.
Is the sound quality OK or is it noticeably worse than car stereo?

Had a look at the Alpine 133bt and it seems like it fits the bill, just a bit concerned with getting a new head unit and it not doing everything I want it to do. Main priority is call quality but I do also want decent sound quality with music playback.................. decisions!!!!!!
