Question Connecting BMW CD changer to Sony Head Unit?

I want to connect a factory fitted BMW CD changer (which has a square 8 pin bus connector and is in a 2003 3 Series car) to a Sony head unit - a BT3700 (which has a round 8 pin connector).

Tech support from both firms have told me that it so long as they both have 8 pin bus connectors it should be possible to connect them, but neither seems to be aware of the different physical shape of the connectors, and have not been able to offer any help re an adapter.

Does anyone know if a suitable adapter exists or, if not, if there is any other practicable way to bodge these together? Any help much appreciated.

Re: Connecting BMW CD changer to Sony Head Unit?

Hi

Can't seem to find anyone thats has tried it but that doesnt mean ppl havent tried.

Your best bet is either connects2 Connects 2,Car Audio integration specialists or SOUNDLINX SOUNDLINX - Cellular, Display/Steering, Audio/Visual Multimedia in car entertainment interfaces and SatNav satellite navigation equipment

Hope thats helps
