Ford KA radio stuck

HELP

Hi,

i have a ford ka 2002 i am trying to take the radio out without success. i have pulled it out about 15mm but it is still stuck. is there a bracket at the back of the unit or is it just a pig to get out?

If you are using the correct tools which probably look like 2 U shape pieces of metal, ensure they have been pushed in all the way into the holes.

You may find the cage is still stopping the unit come out only slightly so try and wiggle it to release any of the pieces of metal from the cage.

You could also try and use a torch to see if theres anything stopping it come out. I've always found you have to be quite forceful but wouldn't advise this, instead maybe take it to a local garage and see if they have any idea.

The ford KA may be completely different to the cars i've seen in the past but I would imagine that is quite unlikely.

They do have a plastic bracket on a runner to support the back of the radio. Best way is gently and dont force it, tip the radio a little to lift the bracket and stop it dragging on the runner which is what causes your issue. Failing that try to get your hand up behind it and help support the plastic bracket
