Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my sat nav. I don't need European maps, just UK, and I need the maps to be easily updateable, preferably free. Speed Camera detection and re-routing are preferable as is Blue-tooth.

I'm looking spend approx £150, maybe a bit more. I've heard its possible to get a cheap unit and download maps from other more expensive manufacturers to save a few quid, not sure how practicle or legal this is though.

Thanks, I've had a look at this on the Tom Tom website, but it doesn't mention re-routing or being able to download new maps or speed camera detection.

you Get latest map when you first buy it Via Tomtom home , you cn also buy maps on there too , speed cams you have to subscribe to that ..

re-routeing you Need traffic (Hd) or the TMC device then your tomtom detects Jams and gives you the Option to Re-route .

That all sounds a bit complicated, are there no alternatives that fulfill my needs without having to pay extra for stuff ? I'd prefer just to pay for something that does what I want it to do instead of then paying extra for subscriptions and the traffic (Hd) or the TMC device, which I don't even know what they are !

Tomtom home Is very easy Install Software and plug the TomTom unit into base you get supplied, everything is on screen yes/no ect .. no bill Gates Degrees required , Dead easy ..
Then all you do is get Latest map in Home in tools section (top left) ..
