Kenwood KDC-W4544U usb stick upload?

I've just bought the Kenwood KDC-W4544U and have just read that it's limited to USB 1.1 speeds (12 megabits/sec) I have 14GB of music, so it'll therefore take around 20 minutes to upload. Will it need to spend 20 minutes doing this everytime i make a journey?

So if i plug a usb storage drive in for the first time, it'll take 20 minutes to upload before i can play anything, but will it need to go through this every single time I plug the same device in with the same files on it?

If not, and I add one or two tracks, will it only need to upload the new tracks, or will it go through the entire library again before i can play anything?

Also, will it need 20 minutes to scan my ipod if i use that with it? Or is this only needed for a usb stick?

Much appreciated.

Actually, as far as i know, i was told by a guy in Halfords that the 4544 wont take more than about 2GIGs on a stick. Its the max they can read.
I guess thats quite a few MP3's though!!
