I've been asked to find a TomTom for under £150 that will be given as a Christmas gift but trawling through all the models is making my head hurt. The person the gift is for has a terrible knock-off chinese sat nav at the moment and has liked TomTom's in the past so as it's a surprise and that is the only SatNav she knows then TomTom it must be.

What is the best TomTom for under £150 in general?

What is the best TomTom that has an SD card, Bluetooth (hands free) and doesn't require any kind of ongoing subscription to work.

It must be TomTom and it must be under £150, everything else is flexible.

Any help or opinions is much appreciated as I know nothing about Sat-Nav but do know how to google so that makes me the family expert.

I bought a Tom Tom XL last night. £119 with a carry case. 4.3 inch screen.

Dead easy to use. No SD cards, no bluetooth, just a basic Sat Nav unit. I didn't find a use for any additional stuff as the car already had bluetooth anyway.

In my opinion you cannot go wrong with the bogstandard tomtom one...just update the software and maps put lane guidance on it etc...one thing i would deffo say is to buy one that takes sd card...easier to play around with then.Just make sure you keep original card safe in case of cockups..Buy and sell a lot of tomtoms and in my experiance the all singing all dancing with internal memory are a waste of space.
