Sony CDX-828U / CDX-929U query

My existing Sony head-unit is on its way out and I need to replace it. I already have a Sony 10 CD changer in the boot, so I was wondering if I could replace the head-unit with either the CDX-GT828U or the CDX-GT929U, would it still be able to work with the existing CD changer? All sorted out now; thanks to the In Car Emporium near Sheffield, bought a very nice Sony CXE-GT929U head-unit for £110 and fitted it myself. Works very nicely with my old Sony 616 10 CD changer. Only problem is; CDs sounds way too loud compared with songs played off my USB key :-D
