Which Sat Nav????

Hi All,

I’m looking to get my wife a new sat nav as she’s just started a new job which involves a lot of travelling and the one she has now is about 5 years old. I’m after some recommendations really as there’s way too many to choose from and can’t decide between TomTom and Garmin.

Key features would be good routing (obviously), traffic re-routing (not to just warn of traffic but provide alternative routes to avoid it (prefer to avoid additional cost for this if possible), speed cameras (I see this is subscription based for most units, do any just have it built it? I’d prefer to pay an extra £100+ if it’s permanent as long as it's good). All other features such as Bluetooth, best route for fuel economy and weather etc are just not needed.

I’m happy to pay £200+

Thanks.

Re: Which Sat Nav????

I would suggest neither. Having had a couple of tomtoms and a couple of garmins, both low and high end variants, i now have a Navigon 4350max. Has everything you want for £170. It does it all very well too, better, faster re-routing than any of the units ive had before. Very stable, never crashes, never lags, traffic is free and very accurate. It doesnt automatically re-route you, it tells you if it is quicker to go a new route or quicker to stay in the traffic and lets you make the decision. You can select auto re-routing if you wish as well. Bluetooth included, with crystal clear calls, but i dont use it as i have bluetooth built in to my car.
