I am looking to buy a 2004ish Mondeo with a radio/CD. I am also trying to organise transferring some other ICE kit from my old car and I need to know which head unit I'll be dealing with.

There are two, apparently, a Sony and a Visteon 6000 CD. Are they easy to tell apart on the forecourt? Are there obvious visual differences or will I have to dig in the audio manual?

Very easy to tell, the Visteon unit will have 6000CD printed on the front. The Sony unit is bigger and not as square in shape.
