Hi,
i have a renault clio 03 model, dynamic, the factory fitted cd player has gon bust, so i want to change th unit only (may change the speakers down the line)...

im just after a new unit which i can put cds in plus a radio, but mainly connect to my mobile(nokia expredd5800, and other mp3 players),

i have now idea what to search for, interms of compatibilty ect...i wont be fitting it, a mate of mine down the garage will..also i would if it is possible, will still like to control the sound ect from the steering wheel control....

any help will be appreciated...not looking to spend too much, about £100 if thats possible, thanks..

Pretty Generic question to be honest! Almost every H/U (headunit) on the market can do the CD player + Radio but the Bluetooth is iffy...!

One option I would recommend depending on budget is a H/U + Parrot Handsfree kit. I have the Parrot CK3100 and cant recommend it enough! Ive got 1 in my car and had it for a year or so with NO issues, Dads had his for 5 years + NO issues and mums only just got hers and cant live without it already !

If I was you I would get a bog standard H/U from halfords (40ish quid) + this.....

That will give you a cheap/'non attractive to theives' head unit but fuctionality of an expensive one! If your no expert at fitting - i would recommend you go to halfords and buy both H/U + Parrot from them and get them to fit it!

Another note....There will be some H/U's on market that offer everyting you want in the same package but these are likely to be more expensive or completer cr@p and you will regret it - especially the bluetooth bit !


Fitting the H/U may require a fascia adapter and ISO adapter and a Steering wheel control adapter which halfords will supply (£50ish overall)

For what you're after i think your looking at around £220 mark..

h/unit capable of oe s/w controls will be around the £125 & up..

have a look at the headunits with bluetooth. start as little as 120 squids. steer clear of halfruads the seldom have the latest units in stock....nearly always last years models.
