How good is call quality when using phone with Bluetooth sat nav?

Hi
I've been looking at getting a car kit for my g/f's birthday and I've noticed a number of sat nav's come with Bluetooth which allows them to connect to your mobile for hands-free calling, etc.

I've never used one of these sat navs and what I'm wondering is how good they are when it comes to using the phone? I'm thinking in terms of call quality - both hearing the other person on the phone and them hearing you OK too. I'm assuming that they have a built in microphone rather than a seperately installed one? Is the sound quality OK? Do you have to shout in order to be heard? I guess it will never be able to match a properly installed car kit that uses the car speakers, seperate mic, etc but as long as the sound quality is OK and it's usable then it could be a good option.

Thanks

I bought a TomTom Live 740, partly for this reason, but abandoned the idea of using the Bluetooth pretty quickly.

Even if my iPhone would connect to it every time (it didn't), I found people couldn't hear me and I struggled to hear them.

I now use a Jabra Jawbone earpiece which works brilliantly and means I don't need the satnav connected in order to take a call.
