Kenwood SatNav and Trafficmaster TMC

Hi,

I've just bought a car which has a Kenwood double-DIN SatNav installed (DNX-7200). If I add the additional RDS TMC module it will receive the Trafficmaster RDS TMC info and display the traffic delays on the SatNav.

My question is whether the traffic works well or not? I had a TomTom with subscription to the traffic updates (which came via GPRS on a mobile phone) but it drove me nuts. It would tell me there was a traffic delay when there wasn't one and invariably when there was a traffic jam nothing showed up on the TomTom. In particular, it never seemed to show delays caused by normal rush hour traffic. I'm not sure if this is a 'feature' or TomTom or the original data. Presumably the traffic data all comes from the same origin however it is delivered to you?

Re: Kenwood SatNav and Trafficmaster TMC

I found the tmc pretty good so far for my dnx5220. It receive info from traffic master, if there are no traffic master camera on a particular road, you will not get the updates for that road. Should cover motorways and most A roads and most city centre main roads.
