I have a Garmin 250W which is nearly 2yrs old using the original map. I am not on the road very much nowadays and it is not worth me paying for a map upgrade or even a camera upgrade.
But, when I do go to a strange area on holiday I want to hear the fixed cam alert but not the continuous speed alert when doing 35 in a 30 zone. I end up turning the thing off.
I edited the 'recalc message' to just a gong, so can I turn just this one alert off somehow ?

You are aware of the answer. Turn off the alerts and use your speedometer.

To turn it off is quite simple....stick to the speed limit.
