Pioneer AVIC F900BT has died

We're currently on holiday and our headunit has given up on us, the screen lights up and the buttons and you can hear the fan running but after 30 seconds or so the lights go off but you can still hear the fan. Tried in another car and the same happens. Phoned pioneer and they said try the reset with the car off instead of on and if this fails go to a dealer to get it sent off. Only problem is we still have 4 days left on holiday and 1000 miles left to drive with no stereo or sat nav! Any help would be appreciated.
