tom tom one iq ?

hi

im thinking about upgrading my first edition tom tom to the tom tom one IQ routes edition.

my one is very bulky and does not pick up great reception without using a extra cable i got for it which gives it full reception.

Is the tom tom one IQ good and do the new sat navs get better satelite reception now days compared to the older versions?

thanks

Re: tom tom one iq ?

just looked into navigons and the Navigon 4350 im hearing a lot about navigons on here and how they seem to be better than the garmin , tom tom.....

what i want in a sat nav is good reliability and good map routeing , will the Navigon 4350max give me this?

Re: tom tom one iq ?

the tomtom has the best interface IMHO

the tomtom one IQ or tomtom one, has limited non upgradeable on-board memory. if you do go for it, be sure, if you buy the UK version its all you will ever want as whist you can buy Europe maps at a latter date they will no fit on the TT1 uk

Only the TT1 europe has the space for extra maps

Re: tom tom one iq ?

The 3300max is great, but I swapped mine back for a 4350mac a you get premium tmc and a lot more for the extra £40. The routing is quicker than a tomtom and the myroutes function takes tomtoms iq routing, and improves it.

No subscription needed, they are free for life.
Also you get 2 years worth of map updates for £17...And they are updating once every 3 months

From the problems you're having you should have not picked Navigon

This swings my view towards tomtom now

Re: tom tom one iq ?

mate i think it was a minor issue , ive got maps now and it is a very nice interface , i was looking at tom tom as well today in halfords but the navigons looked a lot smarter, im getting satelites now ,so perhaps it was because of being new and had to find a them

I don't like the navigon interface, or the look of the system. I am still unsure as well whether to buy tomtom, garmin and navigon.

Does naigon have free traffic updates?

Re: tom tom one iq ?

The 3300 max is UK only, so maybe you got the wrong maps. The 3300 doesnt have free traffic updates, its the 4350, just to amend my previous post. I never had any issues in updating or getting satelites. Here is a tip though, do not power down the unit totally when you arent using it, put it in standby. That way when you next power on, satellites will be picked up in seconds, not minutes. There are lots of other little features that i like and keep stumbling across. Maybe i should read the manual to find them all!
