JVC Everio GZ-HD30 / 40 - PC connection

Just about to pick up one of these HD camcorders, but have been looking through the PDF manual from the site and nowhere does it mention connection to a PC!

I'm assuming that it would just show up as a HDD when connected via the USB connection!

The HD40 model has a docking station with a firewire port, but not the HD30 model that i am looking at.

I cannot see any other way of getting the MPEG-TS (will not be using the AVCHD format) files off the HD.

Regards

Tony

It will show up as removable drive. You can use Windows Explorer or your favourite file manager to move files from the camcorder to your PC. There are some additional automated functions in the camcorder which will activate when it detects a computer is connected.
