HF100 aspect ratio isn't changing when using lower bitrates

Hi,

When I first bought my HF100, when selecting anything other than the top bitrate setting, the aspect would change to be slightly narrower. Today, despite resetting the settings to default, it will record in 16:9 for all bitrate settings. This is contrary to my first experience and the manual. Anyone run across this before?

thx

Chris

Ive never used anything other than FXP but i agree, it should be going to HDV at the other sizes.
Are you viewing these back on camera or via a TV/PC?

Just on the camera at the moment. I remember it used to produce black bars on either side on the camera lcd screen.

Re: HF100 aspect ratio isn't changing when using lower bitrates

Well im no expert but acording to the manual the aspect ratio drops ot 1440x1080 so its only the width that gets changed. Maybe the camera changes the LCD pixel ratio to 1.3 to expand the image to fit the screen automatically.

Just checked mine again and its still the same.
