Tips for getting the best from a HF10/HF100

Got a HF100 yesterday and am very pleased so far.

Only taken a few test recordings in the house in the evening so working with tungsten/fluorescents lighting etc. so obviously not the best environment.

What I notice is that in the view finder scenes are nice and clear and when recordings are played back they show the same colour saturation and contrast as when recorded but when the file is played back on the PC the colour seems very low. I have to boost the colour saturation from default - this is on both my laptop and main PC.

Is it a case that the actual recording is lacking in colour detail and the on camera viewfinder and/or camera playback hardware codec is set to oversaturate the colours or is the viewfinder/camera playback quite neutral and true and it is the playback software/monitor settings etc. on the PCs that need to be set appropriately? Haven't played back via the camera to a TV yet to compare.

I'd just like to get the recording settings correct so that I don't need to post-process video for colour/contrast adjustments when editing for DVDs etc.

Any recommendations for the best settings? Tips when to use vivid/neutral/custom settings, cine mode etc. from experienced HF10/HF100 users...?

Thanks...
