AVCHD advice

Just purchased a new Canon VIXIA HG-20 but I am now finding out that I did not research enough. It gets EXCELLENT video but how to I put it on a DVD that I can share? As it turns out all video is taken in AVCHD format which of course is not compatible with std DVD players.

What I need to be able to do it to quickly and easily create a STD dvd from my camcorder that will lpay back in any dvd player. In addition I need to be able to create a backup DVD which could be i AVCHD format.

Any Suggections how to do this and with minimal cost and max ease of use?

Thanks

you will need to purchase some software first, the files that you load to your drive can then be converted to dvd and avchd disc, also edit if required but some softwares are better than others at this.

Surely the camera came with software, all AVCHD cams should have software conversion programs that will write to SD DVD, you can back up the raw files by creating a data DVD.

Re: AVCHD advice

yes of thats right i have never used mine as i would not want unedited dvds but it would be the easiest way for non edited dvd, i dont even know if the supplied software allows file alterations ie deletions etc.
