Adobe Premiere Pro Vs Sony Vegas

Currently using Adobe Premiere Pro but have managed to get hold of Sony Vegas.

Currently putting footage from a mini DV camcorder into premiere and adding in titles, effects etc... and then converting it down to go onto youtube.

Going to be doing it for HD footage soon.

What's going to be better?

Premiere Pro or Sony Vegas Pro 8.0?

Thanks,

Andy

They are different in ability and mainly GUI but it is possibl to edit material in either and you wouldnt know which made what
Niether is "better"

I know premiere, but will vegas give me any more functionality or ease of use?

It will give you a similar level (IMHO) despite either companies claims to " supremacy
The differences are more in GUI and the extent of control over the effects. Where one appears to lack, there will be paid for or free plugs in or adds on
Both have a thriving third party support or user base and active user forums
Vegas may offer a little more in the area of audio control and parameters due to its origins) but
Neither is better in absolute functionality
Premiere has After Effects for what it cannot do ,

Never used after effects in my life.

I quite like the idea of knowing more than one package.Depending on project, some things are simpler to do in Vegas.
YMMV... you may be a Premiere expert!
Vegas also runs on much more modest hardware
However neither is "better"

Re: Adobe Premiere Pro Vs Sony Vegas

I have used Vegas for years and really like it.

I managed to try Premier recently and found that it didn't have enough flexibility in the RENDER AS options (i.e. change bit rates etc), do discarded it for that reason alone.
