Desperate help for complete novice

Hi everyone

I have a sony sr-10 for a year now and have filled up 40gb hard drive. I have absolutely no idea how to down load this either on to my computer or on to the dvd. The camera came with some software but not sure how to use it.

Can anyone help me as at the moment i cant use my camcorder - also how long does it take. Is it worth recording in HD

Any help much appreciated have no idea what i am doing and have a free weekend to work it out

cheers

The software : PMB isnt that hard to use. Have you installed it?
It has 2 parts to it:
The part that helps you download, and the part that helps you do things with the downloaded footage
When you bought the camcorder How were you intendng to use the footage?

I suggest you connect up the camcorder by USB to the PC and try to copy its contents onto your PCs HDD
This would be a good start
It would be easier to help you if you tried ( having had a good read of the manual) and got stuck ,rather than not at all..
It would be easier to actually show you but the nature of forums means you install software, go hriugh the motions, and say were you get ino trouble them get help till you get there
The other problem with Hi def is: Do you want to watch as hi def or ordinary DVD?
These answer determine what happens to your footage once off the camcorder
