Canon HV20??

Hi,

I'm about to upgrade to an HD camcorder but I'm still keen to stick with MiniDV (HDV) - mainly for archiving purposes.
Ive seen the Canon HV20 for £230 and it seems a good deal.
I know its an older model now so my question is, is it a good buy and a worthwhile camera for someone who is mainly shooting family home videos??
Any suggestions would be welcome.

Cheers

Brad

Re: Canon HV20??

From Canon outlet, supposed to be as new. Damaged box.

Re: Canon HV20??

Yep, £230 would be a pretty good deal. If it's Canon's ebay outlet, then it's probably an auction item, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it to go for considerably more than £230.

Re: Canon HV20??

thanks. think i'll get bidding then.
apart from the hv20 hv30 and sony hdr-hc9 there dont seem to be many HDV cameras around unless you look at the semi-pro ones which run into 4 figures.

would be happy for any other suggestions.

Re: Canon HV20??

HV20, HV30, HV40 (the '30 replaced the '20, the '40 replaces the '30) and the HC9 pretty much cover it in the sub-£1000 market. Slim pickin's.
