Pansonic NV-DS65B vs Samsung VPD33 for a first time purchase

Trying to choose my first digital camcorder. So far based on trying to balance cheap with alot of features:

NV-DS65B
http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/produc...affiliateid=98

Samsung VPD33
http://www.prcdirect.co.uk/PRC/PRC.s.../product/VPD33
I am going to mainly use it to film my daughter as shes only 3 and growing up quickly, plus I would like to do some editing on my pc aswell.

From searching these forums the Panasonic has had some good reviews. Not found anything about the Samsung as I suppose its quite new but the specs seem damn good for the money

The things I cannot find though is on the Samsung - no info on connecting it upto a vcr to transfer on vhs tapes.

Can anyone give me some advice please on what I should look at and why?

or is there better options for the money??

Moved from the digital camera forum by Networkguy for obvious reasons

IMO the panasonic is the better choice, I dont know alot about camcorders yet but I have just purchased the Panasonic NV-DS65 and have to say its a fantastic camcorder.

The main thing to note between the 2 camcorders your looking at is the panasonic has dv IN and OUT. Which from what I understand is usually only avaliable on more expensive models!

Also one more point to push towards the panasonic is the price I got mine for......£309 inc VAT !!!! from here:

Now that will take way too long - need it by the weekend. I really doubt they can have it at that price for too long - its like £50 cheaper than anywhere else.

So - whats issues with the Samsung VPD33. It sounds like it have excellent specs for the money - just cannot find any reviews anywhere.
