MiniDV HD to BD? Easiest way?

I've quite a few HD MiniDV tapes (from a HV20) that I'd like to transfer directly to Blu Ray - is it possible to buy a burner which will transfer the files 'on the fly'? I don't really have the time to start editing/authoring as the tapes are starting to build up

ie Can I connect the HV20 directly to the BD burner and hit record? Would the quality suffer? Could do with a painless lossless conversion!

Any ideas? I haven't got any BD gear yet.

There are some " dedicated burners" which Panasonic and Sony make which can create AVCHD discs . These are DVD discs which have a BD structure, which hold up to 20 min of Hi def material.
These disc are playable on the PS3, and many ( not all) BD players.
I dont believe any actually burn to BD burners

You can of couse also create these on the PC with a normal DVD burner and the appopriate software.. You dont need to edit, but you wil be arthoring . Even the full version of Nero will suffice
It wont be " on the fly" but you need not sit and wait ..

See the above: what you need is a Setop BD burner such as you have DVD recorders now. I havent seen any yet. There may well be prtotypes but they are not mainstream yet and would probably cost too much

A few

Use the PC, in addition to the sugggestion to use a DVD burer ad software to make AVCHD discs,
You can buy a BD burner but it creating the BD ROMs wont be "on the fly " and the cost of BD Media may make you pause and take a step back

Also A decent Quac core or i7 system with 3-4Gb RAM will be handy though not esesntial
Hold on to your tapes
or
Wait till Settop BD burners become mainstream
Whatever you do, you will need a bit of time...

Thanks for that - I guess the best option at the moment is to wait...

Well you could make an AVCHD disc as an experiment but if you dont have a PS3, BD player or Software PC BD playback software , It may be one for later
I have an LG BD ROM reader/ DVD writer drive ( £70) and can Use it to play BD discs, create and view AVCHD discs from HDV camcorders ( not unlike the HV20)
My BD players can also play these discs ( Sony 350 and Panasonic BD 35)
It cost less than half the cost of a BD writer and given the cost of BD media, I also decided a PC based BD writer would be for later
