Sony PD170 Microphone - cannot find anything!

Hi just after a bit of advice. I managed to acquire a Sony PD170 at a knockdown price but the snag was it did not come with a microphone. I have searched high and low on the internet but cannot seem to find anything to replace it.

Im not after anything special, just something that would make it a complete outfit suitable for use. I know a million replacements must be out there, it is just i am unsure of what to look for as am i correct in mentioning the XLR inputs?

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

The original mike is as detailed below. I've recently had dealings with www.videokit.co.uk and found them very helpful, they deal in professional video equipment sales.

Peter

Microphone type....ECM-NV1
Part number..........8-814-298-90

Rode make some pretty reasonable budget mics, try their videomic, or if you would also like to have the ability to get the mic off the camera & closer to the source, the rode ntg1 is a decent shotgun mic
