Question Toshiba Camelio range - Mac Compatible?

Does anyone know if the new Toshiba Camelio P30 / H20 are compatible with a Mac. In particular I would use Final Cut Pro. It states it comes with it's own editing software, but is it limited to this. I can't find any further info.

Also, has anyone used one. Seems like a bargain, so what's the catch?

Re: Toshiba Camelio range - Mac Compatible?

Final Cut Pro supports AVCHD - but I'm not sure which video format the Camelio uses. Do you know? It's worth pointing out that no Toshiba camcorders are officially listed as supported by Apple (at least, not with iMovie anyway): iMovie '09: Camcorder Support

It's likely that the software supplied by Toshiba is Windows-only.

You might also try posting your question here - Digital Video - Mac Forums - it's a digital video forum specifically for Mac users.

Re: Toshiba Camelio range - Mac Compatible?

thanks. i'm trying to clarify the format and compatibility but they don't shed much light on their site.
If Toshiba purposely avoid MACS i'll have to find an alternative camera. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Sub £200 for HD. Don't need bells and whistles, just a good picture quality and preferably format captured/stored on SD cards.

Ditto.

Also looked at the new Sony Webbie HD, but many reviews cite it to have rubbish low-light quality.

Now looking at the Camelio Pro HD, and also have a Mac.

Will be interested in any suggestions.
