Toshiba P30 - HD Video Editing software

I have just bought this camcorder, and wish to edit the video and still retain the full 720p resolution for full-screen dislpay on a PC and TV. I have tried AVS4 trial software , and whilst this does the job is there any other, cheaper one. I only want basic editing, like titles, trimming and deleting clips.

Re: Toshiba P30 - HD Video Editing software

don't know much about AVS4, from what I can find on the web it's just for converting

what's your price limit for software and what OS are you using?

Re: Toshiba P30 - HD Video Editing software

I use Final Cut Studio on a mac OS X 10.5.6

I just want to know if it will recognise the camera/footage.

Re: Toshiba P30 - HD Video Editing software

I forgot to say I'm using a PC, XP.
AVS4 has lots of bits to it, and I downloaded the evaluation version AVS Video Editor 4.1 - this leaves a logo in the output, which is not there on the paid version. It costs $60. It has lots of features, and to date is the only one I've found that will produce 720p WMV files that I can play on my PC and, via DVD, on my TV. Some software only produces lower res, or doesn't do full screen displays.

Ok. No good to me I'm afraid - it's a mac or another camera.

Re: Toshiba P30 - HD Video Editing software

I thought that the P30 records in 1080p (natively).

Re: Toshiba P30 - HD Video Editing software

It can record at 1080p, 720p or even less. I am using 720p because I think this is similar to the TV resolution I am used to seeing on my LCD TV. - and it seems a good balance between huge files and low quality pictures.
