Timelapse with camcorder

I used to have a canon camcorder about 10 yrs ago which could do time lapse recording, clouds and flowers opening etc. Cant seem to find any current models with the feature other than top of range Pannys. Anyone successfully using a current or recent camcorder in this way. Suggestions would be appeciated. I know still cameras can be used but I value my DSLR shutter too much.

Re: Timelapse with camcorder

my old HC5 (HDV) had "interval recording" which is timelapse, am sure some other will do it, try searching for "interval recording"
