Keep the Pan HDCSD9 or get a Canon HF100?

I have recently bought a Panasonic HDC SD9 and still have a week in which to return it for a full refund.

Whilst I have been happy with the physical size, feel of the unit and video taken there are a number of issues I find with it.

a. Low light performance not that good
b. Function list disapointing
c. Joystick operation a nightmare
d. Having to remove the battery to conect the power lead and HD lead a pain, you also have to do this to download to a PC using the USB lead.
e. Lack of any controls via the swing out screen

The question I am hoping some of you will be able to help me with is should I return the Pany and get myself a Canon HF 100?

Would the Canon overcome most/all of the above issues or does it introduce its own issues in use?

Re: Keep the Pan HDCSD9 or get a Canon HF100?

Go and try an HF100 in a store somewhere, see what you think. I own an SD9, and apart from point a (for which there are solutions, mainly involving using more light) I've got no problem with any of the other items you list, which goes to show how much of this stuff is personal preference.
