Ieee1394 Cables

I would like to connect my Canon MV600i Mini DV to a Windows ME
pc.

My pc doesn't have the required IEEE DV terminal.
Is it possible to get a lead or some peripheral to make a connection.

Cheers
Rich Tee.

Hi,

You need to buy a PCI Firewire card that will go into a spare PCI slot in your PC. You'll also need a firewire cable. The PCI cards can be bought for around £10 - £15.

The white connectors are PCI, the dark ones ISA.

Most firewire cards will include a DV cable. So the only other thing you will need to purchase is the editing software, or upgrade to Windows XP and you get the free MS Movie Maker. Download the free upgrade to MM2 and you have all you need to edit video.
