Me niether , saying that most burners are now dual layer and multiformat capable, so choice of media isn't so crucial
Ive got an LG " multi" optical drive which in addition to reading BD and HD DVD burns to everything including DVD-RAM

One other thing is that some DVD players simply prefer one format to another and in the days of old when DVD backups were the norm, An otherwise excellent older Toshibas I had back in the day would not play from Backups DVD Shrink but they would from DVD decrypter!!

My Sony BD 350 doesn't not like most DVD video from domestic media. Coversely the Panasonic Bd 35 is happy with pretty much anything

A few of the Earlier Auto Sony CD players would not play Audio Cd compilations made from Cd-R
