Reccomendations for no frills Camcorder SD or HD?

Please could some one recommend me a no frills camcorder, Im going round in circles , I need to buy this week !
I want it for general filiming of mainly skiing and holidays !
Help - budget from £100 to £250 or is there something which is a must buy

Get a tape Model ( Canon MD 235 ect)
Canon FS100 or Samsung MX20 ( have a read of the sticky)
The Canon is better though but a tad costlier
The Canon tape model is very best quality if you can stand tapes in 2009
