Should I go for a faster Raid 0 HDD?

...even though theyre less reliable?

I'm looking to get a new i7 Dell PC for home use and AVCHD editing. I'm tempted to add a Raid 0 drive, but understand that theyre seen as "less reliable"

Any ideas?

Cheers

I like helping people with the same name as me

Personally I wouldn't bother going for raid. I don't know where you've heard that raid 0 is a lot faster - in the real world it makes little, if any difference at all.

And as you say, it is less reliable (a bit). This is only because the data is spread over two HDDs so if one of them dies you lose all your data. But the chance of an HDD dying is quite small tbh.
