i'm in the market for a decent hi def camcorder that also has good still image quality. It need to be small and light (I know i don't want much) as we have a big family hiliday coming up and i want to capture as much as possible as chances are it may be the parents last trip over seas.

Although budget is relatively flexible the cam needs to be quite compact. Is SD / Momory stick the way to go as it makes for smaller lighter Cams?

Any advice / experiences gratefully received?

I have a month or so before I need to make the purchase so any news on upcoming models would also be welcome.
